Rediscovery of a repressed useful and medicinal plant
Mighty Soil Recovery
Hemp is an undemanding pioneer plant and therefore grows practically everywhere. This is also interesting for agriculture, where it is confronted with depleted soils as a remnant of rigorously operated monocultures. Pioneer plants are typically able to recultivate "lost" soils by stimulating and enriching the microclimate of the soil with their modest life cycle and the biomass they produce.
Completely without herbicides, pesticides and artificial fertilizers - naturally organic.
Hemp grows faster than weeds and can prevail against them. This eliminates the need for herbicides. And with its large defenses, hemp can protect and maintain itself and therefore does not require pesticides. Combined with its ability to thrive even on poor soils, hemp is ideal for organic farming.
Basis for resilient structures in agriculture, society, economy
The cultivation and processing of commercial hemp thus represent a blessing potential for the recovery of smallholder structures and thus regionally sufficient, sustainable, independent and perspective living conditions. This benefits the farmers as well as the subsequent trade, industry and the entire economy and society. The rediscovery and activation of the talents and forces that had been decommissioned in the wake of neoliberal globalization help people and societies to regain their identity, appreciation and culture.
Contribution to bio-diversity
With the alternative to monocultures and environmental toxins ("...- zides"), the living conditions for any beings improve from the microorganisms in the soil to the insects as proteges and pollinators of the plants to the entirety of flora, fauna and mankind in their indispensable diversity and strength.
Contribution to climate regulation
Protecting biodiversity also means protecting the climate. In addition, hemp makes a significant contribution to regulating the global carbondioxid budget by first binding carbondioxid during its growth and by supplying the natural raw material to replace countless products that are currently produced from petroleum. In addition, hemp grows about 6 times faster than a tree. In this way, hemp can also curb the global deforestation which takes place for the production of cellulose for the paper industry.

Hemp food
The hemp fruits (nuts) are ideal for extracting the most valuable oils and flours. Tasty food can be produced to enrich the local cuisine. In our network of Hemp 360˚ there are many farmers to cultivate the food aspects and to make the straw available for further use.
Natural, co2-neutral building and construction materials
The wooden parts of the stem, the so-called shives, become hemp stones, i.e. load-bearing shaped stones made of hemp and lime. Coarse fibers are processed into insulation mats, such as those currently offered by Thermo Natur in southern Germany as ThermoHanf, those offered in Switzerland by Stroba Naturbaustoffe. Part of the Glärnisch planning is the production of insulation mats and of the raw material for mattresses well able to be/come part of the cycle economy .
Hemp instead of plastic and carbon fibers
The replacement of plastics and fiber-reinforced plastics with equal hemp products may also make a major contribution to climate protection. For this, certain discards from the production of textile fibers are suitable. The natural materials therefore replace plastic sacks, packaging materials, plastic and petroleum-based composite materials with the molded parts and trays produced from them.
Cottonized hemp fibers instead of cotton
The real domain of the Glärnisch Textil cooperative is the textile fibers and the yarns, cloths and fashionable and technical articles made from them. For this purpose, the straw from the stems is used, which is called winter hemp. The replacement of cotton with hemp fibers opens up enormous ecological potential.
Medical hemp: cbd is recognized
The healing power of hemp with its non-anesthetic cannabidiol (CBD) is enormeous and has been used since ever. The legal extraction of the CBD, which is now recognized in Switzerland, is the focus of numerous Swiss farmers, from whom the Glärnisch Textil cooperative takes over the straw, too.
